Misted double glazing repair in Southport
If your double glazing has misted up between the panes, the seal on that unit has gone. You don't need a new window.

Why it's gone misty
When the seal on a double-glazed unit fails, damp gets in between the two panes and it goes cloudy. If you can't wipe it off from either side, it's the seal.
What I do
I measure the unit, order a new one made to fit your frame, then take the old one out and put the new one in. Your frames, hinges and handles stay as they are. I can match clear, obscure or leaded glass.
The new unit is made to measure at Southport Glass and usually comes in within 3 to 5 days, depending on whether it needs toughened glass. Swapping it over takes me 20 minutes to half an hour.
It's a lot cheaper than a new window. I've replaced misted units in front bays, bedroom windows, dormer bungalows and conservatories.

Will the misting clear up by itself?
No. Once the seal's gone, damp keeps getting in between the panes. The unit needs replacing.
Can you replace obscure or leaded glass units?
Yes, I can match them.
